Mon: 2 hrs rolling through gorgeous Central Park. 15 miles, half with Steph, half with the rest of Manhattan. Great day. Late flight back to ABQ from NYC. Goodbye city.

Wed: AM STILL TIRED from travel late night Monday, only 3 easy before work.
PM Lifting glutes/core/hamstrings, 7 windy miles around Academy
Thur: AM sorry attempt for a workout...2mi w/u, 6x100strides, 5xmin fast/min easy, one mile at 7min pace, 1mi c/d (5.5mi total)...actually stopped, was sad, and went home. Only to get a pep talk telling me to get my sorry-a in gear, and check my attitude, and try again that afternoon. It worked!
PM Treadmill session...not perfect, but much better than AM. 1mi w/u, 5 miles at 6:20 pace, 1mi c/d
Fri: AM: 9 mi easy before work, Afternoon travel to St. Louis
Sat: after cancelled flights and sleeping on a bench in the Dallas airport for an hour, slogged through 10mi with 10x30s strides...at least missed the tornado!
Sun: 2 hours, 15miles easy.
Totals: 82.5mi total. Pretty exhausted this week. Frustrated. Tough workouts and feeling like a failure. Hoping for a better week next time around.

Sat: 3mi total (2 at 6:10 pace, poor excuse for a workout!)
Sun: 11 miles through CP
Total: 55.5mi. Light week while being in NYC working for Adidas Grand Prix! Back at it next week.
Week of May 13, 2013:
Mon: 80 min easy around South Boston and Castle Island. Love. Love.
Tues: Easy afternoon/PM double after a LONG trip back from Beantown. 10mi total
Wed: Workout...15min w/u, 6x100 strides, 5,4,3,2,1min repeats with half recovery (6:15-6:08pace), 5min easy, 5,4,3,2,1min repeats with half recovery (7:00pace), 6x100 strides, 15min c/d. Had planned on starting at 6:15 and dropping down to 6:00, but as you can see from the second set, had a rough go and decided just finishing even if slow was better than quitting. Lots of work to do. 11miles total.
Thur: 10mi split
Fri: 7mi AM at Academy with Pat
3mi PM easy, lift afterwards
Sat: 87 min trail run in the Sandias with the boys. 10 hard miles through the foothills!
Sun: 2hour flat trails on the Bosque, 15miles total
Totals: 76miles total. Working on strength and nutrition. Supposed to be getting 2200calories and 140g protein. Going well. Staying positive...
Week of May 6, 2013:
Mon: Massage with Bresson, first since Boston...OUCH.
Lunch: 4.5mi up and down Penn Arroyo in the sunshine easy.
PM: 5.5mi easy through the neighborhoods in Uptown. Darkness.
Tues: AM 8.5mi with Lulu PM 1.5mi easy
Wed: AM 6mi easy PM 4mi easy, meeting with nutritionist...more to come on this saga! Apparently I'm getting 1/3 the protein I need to function...
Thur: AM workout 25 min, 5xmin fast, 5 min easy, 5xmin fast, 25min easy
Fri: 80 min easy, fly to Boston in the afternoon
Sat: 20min, 10x30sec strides, 20min around WINDY South Boston
Sun: 2 hrs VERY slow, 12 min only with Stew in his Maine Coast Marathon. So proud. He ran 4:32! Big PR for him!
Totals: 67mi total. First "workout" back, if you could even call it that! Lots of work to do, that's for sure...
